As tipoff looms for No. 25 Iowa basketball’s (7-0) Big Ten season-opener against No. 8 Michigan State (7-0) from a raucous Breslin Center in East Lansing, Mich., the Hawkeyes and Spartans each have one of their impact players listed in the conference-mandated game day availability report.
As for the Hawkeyes’ side of the report, freshman forward Trey Thompson is listed as “out” for tonight’s matchup.

The 6-foot-8, 220-pounder has yet to make a regular-season appearance on the court for the Hawkeyes, but his absence will certainly impact the depth of Ben McCollum’s squad in their first road game of conference play against a formidable Spartans roster.
Regarding Michigan State, the Spartans have freshman forward Cameron Ward listed as “questionable”. Ward has averaged 9.0 points and 5.1 rebounds per game while playing in every contest this season.
Iowa and Michigan State will tip off tonight at 6 p.m. CT, and the game will be broadcast exclusively on Peacock.
