Stars defenceman Lian Bichsel out six to eight weeks with lower-body injury

The Dallas Stars have sustained another blow to their blue line.
Defenceman Lian Bichsel will have surgery for a lower-body injury and miss six to eight weeks, head coach Glen Gulutzan told reporters on Tuesday.
The injury is identical to the one fellow defenceman Nils Lundqvist is currently working back from, per Gulutzan.
Bichsel went down during the second period of Sunday’s 6-1 win over the Ottawa Senators when he was driven awkwardly into the boards. He immediately went down the tunnel and did not return.
The left-shot Switzerland native has played 26 games for the Stars this season, averaging nearly 16 minutes per game with one goal and two assists.
He joins fellow defencemen Lundqvist and Thomas Harley on the sidelines.
The Stars return to action Tuesday when they visit the New York Rangers.
