Scott Wedgewood exited Tuesday’s game against the Vancouver Canucks midway through the second period with an upper-body injury.
The Avalanche and Canucks were tied at 1-1 when the change came, during a TV timeout. Mackenzie Blackwood entered in his place as Wedgewood went down the tunnel to the dressing room. Wedgewood faced 11 shots.
With Blackwood in goal, Colorado scored twice in the final seven minutes of the second period to take a 3-1 lead into the break.
