Jaylen Brown is the Celtics ‘Name to Know’ Player of the Game in Tuesday’s win over Knicks

Jaylen Brown shook off a slow start on Tuesday night and spearheaded an impressive comeback for the Celtics against the Knicks.
The All-Star scored a season-high 42 points while shooting 16-of-24 from the field making him Tuesday’s “Name to Know” Player of the Game. The Name to Know Player of the Game is sponsored by John’s Sewer and Drain Cleaning, the Name to Know when your drains don’t flow.
Brown came out of the gate sluggish against the Knicks, turning the ball over three times in the game’s opening nine minutes while picking up two quick fouls. However, he responded with his two most efficient scoring quarters of the season, helping Boston erase a 14-point deficit by halftime with his shot making.
Brown erupted for 35 points in the second and third quarter combined, going 13-of-17 from the field and 2-of-4 from 3-point range during that span. He also tallied four rebounds, three assists and a steal in that stretch, helping Boston’s offense explode for 73 points in those two middle two frames.
The Knicks threw a host of double teams at Brown throughout the fourth quarter, limiting Brown to just two shot attempts in the fourth quarter. However, Brown did come up big at the free throw line down the stretch and got enough scoring from the supporting cast to hold off a late Knicks charge.
Brown has now scored 30 or more points in four of his last five games, leading Boston to a 4-1 record in that stretch. Brown and the Celtics will look to continue their momentum this week on Thursday when they face off against the Wizards in Washington.
