Alexander Skarsgård Hilariously Reminds Miriam Margolyes of the First Time They Met

Alexander Skarsgård and Miriam Margolyes made for a surprisingly delightful pairing on a recent episode of The Graham Norton Show.
The 49-year-old Swedish actor was asked to share an anecdote about the first time he’d met Miriam years earlier, when she was renting out a room in her Santa Monica condo.

The Harry Potter alum had no memory of the encounter.
“Well, I clearly made a strong impression on her,” Alexander joked.
They then had a playful back-and-forth about why he didn’t end up taking the room, with Miriam wondering if it was dirty or too expensive. The Pillion actor said that wasn’t the issue. Instead, it was that he thought there was some brewing sexual tension between them and worried things would get messy.
Miriam immediately responded, “Darling, I’m 84 and gay! I’ve been with my partner for 58 years!”
The entire couch—which also included Nicola Coughlan and Glenn Close—burst into laughter along with Graham and the audience.
“Again, I probably misread the situation,” Alexander responded.
A cheeky Miriam scoffed and said, “Oh, you’re talking out of your bottom!”
Graham then cut in to ask Nicola if she had ever worked with (or almost lived with) Miriam, and she happily jumped into the joke, saying, “I’m your daughter!”
Alexander chimed in with a perfectly timed, “And I’m your father,” to Nicola. The moment ended with both the True Blood alum and the Bridgerton star giving a bemused Miriam a hug. A priceless moment all around.
