After gathering plaudits and Grammy nominations for his solo album “Foxes In The Snow”, Jason Isbell is returning to the UK and the EU with his band, the 400 Unit, for a series of shows in June 2026. The previous band tour in November 2024 included a show at the Eventim Apollo (better known as the Hammersmith Odeon), which was reviewed by AUK’s Lyndon Bolton, who wrote: “The result, as performed tonight by Isbell and his first-rate band, left this reviewer yet again feeling a profound sense of great satisfaction. There can be few shows that leave the audience as absorbed and rewarded as those by Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit”.
Isbell’s latest band album, “Weathervanes” (2023), was noticeably more focused on performance, and this was emphasised in the 2024 tour experience with more jamming and a distinctly heavier sound. Recent set lists have included songs from the latest solo record, so it will be interesting to hear how the two elements to his current albums integrate into next year’s shows.
In the meantime, you can see the band playing ‘Gravelweed’ at the Winnipeg Folk Festival earlier this year in the video below.
