Stephen Curry’s Brother Seth Breaks Silence on Getting Cut and Re-Signed by Warriors

For the first time in their NBA careers, Stephen Curry and his brother Seth Curry will team up. The Golden State Warriors are starting the month of December with a bang after signing Seth to a rest-of-the-season contract.
While it’ll be interesting to see what the brothers can do on the court together as teammates, Warriors fans should’ve initially witnessed the Curry duo at the start of the 2025-26 season. However, Golden State cut ties with Seth before the season commenced, delaying the reunion of the Currys.
Now officially part of the Warriors roster, Seth broke his silence on being cut, then eventually signed.

Stephen Curry’s Brother Seth Wasn’t Worried About Being Waived
Back on Oct. 1, the Warriors signed Seth to a one-year veteran minimum contract. However, he was later cut off on Oct. 18 due to salary cap issues. Apparently, waiving Steph’s younger brother was a strategic move to get him back on the team eventually.
The plan was to let several games pass first before signing Seth. That way, they could acquire the younger Curry for a prorated amount that fits the team’s salary cap. While it’s undoubtedly a smart move by Golden State’s front office, most players would panic at the idea of waiting it out.
But it appears that Seth wasn’t concerned about the initial waiver in October. During his welcoming interview press conference, Seth told reporters that he was confident the Warriors would contact him somewhere along the road.
“I knew they would come eventually,” Seth said. “My agent was helping me keep my mind right and also talking to Steph and getting his pulse on the team.”
Seth also shared how he made sure to prepare while waiting for the Warriors’ call. He wanted to make sure that he was physically ready to help Golden State achieve its aspirations this season.
“Just trying to stay in the best rhythm as possible every day,” Seth said. “Getting in the gym every day, getting my workouts in. Staying sharp, trying to get some live play with players whenever I can. It’s been tough mentally, but it kind of flew by.”

Last season playing for the Charlotte Hornets, Seth averaged 6.5 points while shooting an accurate 45.6% from beyond the arc. Like his older brother Steph, Seth has the ability to drill long-distance bombs for his team. Now with both Currys on the team, we might see another rendition of the “Splash Brothers” with actual siblings this time around.
