Steph Curry will be on the Golden State Warriors’ injury report for several games at a minimum. Last week, Curry suffered a quad contusion on Thanksgiving Eve.
Although MRI results didn’t seem to reveal anything that would keep him out long-term, the Warriors announced that Curry would get re-evaluated in one week. There was a sigh of relief coming from Golden State at the time, but the ESPN NBA Insider Marc J. Spears had an unsettling message to deliver regarding Curry’s setback.
“It’s not good,” Spears said. “He’s going to get re-evaluated on Thursday, and he’s not doing any on-court work. Just getting rehab. Definitely not good.”

Although Curry was placed on a one-week timeline, that didn’t mean he was guaranteed to return to the court by then. The Warriors simply planned to have him on a recovery plan and will see how his body reacts. According to Spears, the early signs aren’t promising for a quick return.
Curry’s injury occurred during a period when the Warriors had some off time. They faced the New Orleans Pelicans a few days after Curry’s latest performance. Without Curry, the Warriors found success, taking down the struggling Pelicans with a 104-96 victory.
On Tuesday night, the Warriors will be back on the court to face the Oklahoma City Thunder. Hosting the 20-1 defending champions, the undermanned Warriors are walking into their toughest test yet.
This year, Curry has managed to appear in 16 games for Golden State. He’s seen the court for 31.1 minutes of action on average, and has produced 27.9 points per game, while shooting 47 percent from the field and 39 percent from three.

Along with his scoring, Curry has averaged 3.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game.
The Warriors possess a winning record, but they haven’t been as sharp as they had hoped. Going into Tuesday’s action, they are 11-10 on the year. With Curry out for at least the next two games, the Warriors have plenty to worry about. If the setback is as bad as it seems, then Curry’s co-stars and supporting cast have a lot of pressure placed on them moving forward.
