‘Insane’ Aussie leaves cricket in disbelief

Tim David delivered a scary reminder that he’s one of the most damaging batsmen in the world with his latest destructive knock.

The 29-year-old delivered a scintillating innings to lead the UAE Bulls to victory in the final of the Abu Dhabi T10 tournament.

After opener James Vince retired hurt only three deliveries into the innings, David strolled to the crease with the Bulls 1-22 after fellow opener Phil Salt was dismissed.

The Aussie made a watchful start to his innings before he began sending the ball to all parts of the Zayed Cricket Stadium.

David toyed with the Aspin Stallions’ bowling attack as he plundered a devastating 66 runs from 24 deliveries.

Then came his masterpiece.

With one over left in the innings and the Bulls sitting at 1/118, David unleashed as he scored 32 runs from the final six balls with five deliveries clearing the fence.

His blunt force with the willow left the Bulls at 1/150 from their 10 overs and had the Stallions facing an uphill battle.

It proved too great of a mountain to overcome with the Stallions innings coming to an end at 4/70.

David was rightfully awarded the man of the match honours with the Bulls victorious by eighty runs.

Making his final heroics even greater, David produced earlier in the day in an elimination game that led his side into the decider.

He scored 57 not out off only 18 deliveries, with his innings highlighted by one over where he scored 35 off the bowling of pace bowler Khuzaima Tanveer.

It means across both innings he scored 155 runs from 48 deliveries at a strike rate of 323. In that span he hit 19 sixes and five fours.

His outrageous displays with the bat in hand left those watching on in sheer disbelief as to what they were witnessing.

Max Rumble wrote on X: “Tim David went absolutely insane in the Abu Dhabi T10 final smashing 98 off just 30 balls. Can anyone stop this beast or is he rewriting T10 history single-handedly?”

Another wrote: “In another world. Literally smashed 12 sixes in the final, is this guy even real?”

RCB Xtra added: “12 sixes in the last 16 balls he faced. WTF is he mad?”

A fourth wrote: “At this rate, Tim David will get the No. 1 retention (post Kohli retirement) and will also be the most loved foreigner for RCB after Gayle and AB. What he is doing is not normal.”

Cricket fans Down Under will be hoping David can bring more of his power hitting with him when the 2025/26 Big Bash season kicks off in mid-December.
