Mbappe Becomes Fourth Player in the 21st Century to Score 60 Goals in a Calendar Year

Real Madrid and France national team forward Kylian Mbappe scored his 60th goal of 2025 in a La Liga matchday 14 game against Girona, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

The 26-year-old French forward has thus joined a group of four players in the 21st century who have scored that many goals.

This century, only Cristiano Ronaldo (63 goals in 2012, 69 goals in 2013, 61 goals in 2014), Robert Lewandowski (69 goals in 2021), and Lionel Messi (91 goals in 2012) have scored more goals in a calendar year.

It should be noted that Kylian Mbappe still has a chance to improve his total, as Real Madrid are facing La Liga matches against Athletic, Celta, Alaves, and Sevilla in December, as well as a UEFA Champions League meeting with England’s Manchester City.

Kylian Mbappe has been playing for Real Madrid since the summer of 2024. His contract with Los Blancos runs until the summer of 2029, and his market value is estimated by the Transfermarkt website at 180 million euros.
