Conservative caucus members move to oust Rustad

The B.C. Conservative caucus has taken steps to oust John Rustad from his position as party leader Wednesday, a source says.

The move follows a letter to the party’s president, which claimed 20 Conservative MLAs have “executed” statements, saying they’ve lost confidence in him and want him out after months of inter-party turmoil.

The MLA for Surrey-White Rock, Trevor Halford, has reportedly been appointed interim leader.

1130 NewsRadio’s source says a formal announcement about the change is coming soon.
