Rob Edwards hoping home comforts can kickstart Wolves’ survival bid

Nottingham Forest and Manchester United both visit Molineux over the next five days and boss Edwards acknowledges they represent a chance to breathe belated life into the season.

Wolves, still searching for their first Premier League win, sit bottom of the table, nine points from safety but Edwards believes spirits in the dressing room have been slightly lifted by Sunday’s positive performance in the 1-0 derby defeat at Villa.

By the same token, he also knows time is already running out for his team to make a credible crack at staying up and said: “Home games can give us a real opportunity and two in quick succession, there’s a chance there.

“We won’t get carried away and start looking at the one beyond Wednesday night right now. “That’s got all our focus and rightly so but yeah, it gives us a chance.”

Edwards thanked supporters for the backing they have given the team over his first two matches in charge – and acknowledged the return of a familiar face to Molineux with Forest could work in their favour.
