I’m A Celebrity star Lisa Riley played a “gag-worthy” sausage prank that will make viewers’ stomachs curdle. The Mandy Dingle actress has lifted the lid on the gross pranks she pulls behind the scenes of the ITV soap, including a notorious “sausage stunt” that left her ITV co-stars desperately trying to hold it together on camera.

The soap star, who’s known for being one of the biggest mischief-makers on set, admitted her castmates are never safe when she’s around. In fact, she says pranking has practically become a full-time job.

“Oh, I prank everyone. I’m renowned for it,” she confessed to Daily Star in an exclusive chat with Daily Star in collaboration with Betway. “There are two of us – me and James Hooton, who plays Sam Dingle. Any one of the cast is always up for a laugh, and when there’s a scene, I like to do things for a laugh when the shot is not on me.”

But there’s one prank that has gone down in soap history and even she giggles remembering it. “One of the famous ones is with Vinny, who plays my son Vinny,” she explained. “He had this big speech, and I pretended to smash the cupboard while the camera was not on me. When you’re filming those long hours, we are always mucking about.”

However, her most outrageous trick – the one the crew apparently fear the most – involves food, impeccable timing, and a very unlucky cup. “Putting food in people’s drinks is a really good one I do,” she said, without a shred of guilt. “They don’t see me, and when they go for a take, we’ll do a scene, and when they look away, I plot something in my drink, and when we go for it, there will be a sausage in their cup.”

Yes. A sausage. Random. Slimy. Floating silently like a horror prop waiting to be discovered. “It’s the Dingles,” she added proudly. “We are a little bit naughty.”

The star also revealed that she loves working with her on-screen husband Dominic Brunt but one time a scene resulted in her exposing too much skin. She revealed: “Endlessly! Working with my husband in character, he is my best friend in the whole world, and there are things that can go wrong because of the clumsiness of the scene, but we will happily go on.

“If you know your lines so well, you can keep going on and on and keep the scene flowing perfectly. That is how it would happen in real life. If something falls over, you carry on, and Dom and I know the lines, especially when you’re playing comedy, that’s brilliant.”
