Cooper Flagg, Anthony Davis Pairing Excites Fans as Mavs Top Heat for 3rd Straight Win

The Dallas Mavericks seemingly have some momentum after a rough start to the season.

The Mavs downed the Miami Heat 118-108 on Wednesday, marking their third consecutive win. Previously, Dallas hadn’t had back-to-back wins.

No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg led the way for the Mavericks, continuing what has been an impressive stretch from him. The rookie posted 22 points and six boards in the win, following up a 35-point outing on Saturday and a 24-point night on Monday.

Anthony Davis also played well as he works his way back from injury. The veteran big man put up 17 points, 17 rebounds and three blocks. Klay Thompson added 17 off the bench, and rookie Ryan Nembhard collected 15 points and 13 assists.

After the win, fans had high praise for Flagg, Davis and the Mavericks.

While three straight wins are nice, Dallas still has plenty of work to do. The Mavericks are 8-15 on the year, sitting in 12th place in the West after digging themselves in a hole to start the season.

Still, it’s a good sign to see the Flagg, Davis and the rest of the team playing with some confidence as they look to turn things around.
