Sydney Sweeney Ditches Her New Bob Hairdo for a Bombshell Blowout at ‘The Housemaid’ Premiere in New York

Sydney Sweeney took a night off from her bob to bring big bombshell hair to the red carpet premiere of her upcoming film, “The Housemaid,” on Tuesday night in New York City. With the help of her stylist Glen Oropeza, the 33-year-old actress married the aesthetic of her character, Millie Calloway, with her own, donning long, bleach blond extensions and tbouncy curls.
“For last night, we were channeling Hollywood glamour but a little less defined and less structured and slightly more loose and undone,” Oropeza told WWD. “I always like to do a wave on Sydney that feels new and different than anything we’ve done for the carpet.”

It’s been a little over a month since Sweeney debuted her bob transformation at the AFI Fest 2025 premiere of “Christy.” Here, she made the bold decision to shed her signature length for a fine chop above the shoulders and a platinum refresh courtesy of celebrity colorist Jacob Schwartz. In conversation with WWD, Oropeza revealed the motivation was “boredom.”
“Both of us had become a little bored,” Oropeza said. “We needed a cut to take it to the next level and make it feel different. We both wanted to do a color that she’s never done before. lf you notice this tone of blond compared to any other blond she’s ever done, it’s very different. It’s a lot more dimensional, but it’s still very bright.”
Amanda Seyfried and Sydney Sweeney

Next to her costar Amanda Seyfried outside Tuesday night’s premiere, the two leads appeared like twins, only Seyfried’s curls were more drawn-out and brushed through thanks to celebrity hair artist Renato Campora. Together, Campora and the “Mamma Mia” star settled on the controversial early 2000s side part. And they weren’t subtle about it. Here, Campora combed Seyfried’s muddy brown roots over the right side of her head, starting from the far left. Seyfried has often flip-flopped between the middle and side part. In fact, the actress opted for a defined split down the middle for her appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” earlier in the week.
