Jamie Laing and Sophie Haboo welcome their first child with unique name

Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo officially have the new names of ‘mum’ and ‘dad’ after they welcomed their first child.

The Made in Chelsea stars, 36 and 31, who wed in the summer of 2023, shared the news of their little one’s arrival with their fans on Thursday with some adorable snaps of them holding their newborn in hospital.

Jamie posted two sweet polaroids of their baby on social media, with the baby wrapped up in a blanket and a white hat and cradled in Sophie’s arms.

The pair, who kept the gender of their baby a secret from the public before the birth, haven’t revealed yet if they have welcomed a baby girl or boy, but they have picked out a very unique name.

The new parents shared that they have named their child Ziggy, which can be used as both a boy or a girl’s name, and means ‘victory’.

New dad Jamie wrote in a caption, announcing the birth of his child, saying: ‘Ziggy, you have our whole hearts,’ along with a white heart emoji.

Their famous friends rushed to congratulate them in the comments, and appeared to let the gender slip, with former Made In Chelsea stars Chessie King writing: ‘HE’S HERE! Ziggy Laing, what a lucky lucky boy you are xxx’ and Emily Blackwell, saying: ‘Oh my god!!! Congratulations guys I can’t wait to meet him.’

The couple first announced they were expecting back in June, with an adorable video of their emotional reaction to seeing their baby on an ultrasound scan for the first time.

Jamie and Sophie first met on the reality show Made In Chelsea in 2017, and were friends before anything romantic blossomed between them.

In December 2021, Jamie got down on one knee and popped the question. The couple went on to first tie the knot in a civil ceremony at Chelsea Registry Office in London in April 2023 and then pulled out all the stops for their second wedding in Seville with a star-studded guest list in May 2023.
