50,000 people in Kerry are to benefit from Christmas bonus payments.
It’s part of €370 million in payments to lone parents, carers, pensioners and the unemployed, as announced by Social Protection Minister, Dara Calleary.
The bonus will be issued alongside regular weekly payments to over 1.5 million social welfare recipients.
The announcement has been welcomed by Fianna Fáil TD Michael Cahill, Fine Gael Senator, Mike Kennelly, and Minister of State Michael Healy-Rae, and Deputy Danny Healy-Rae.
