London | Geopolitics has trumped kitsch, with the Eurovision Song Contest in disarray after at least four countries declared that they would boycott the event following the allowance of Israel to compete next year.
Spain, the Netherlands, Ireland and Slovenia said they would pull out after the European Broadcasting Union, which hosts the annual songfest, refused to hold a vote on whether to kick Israel out.
