Sixers’ Adem Bona discusses challenges Warriors present before contest

PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia 76ers will play host to the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night looking to kick off a back-to-back on the right foot. Both teams are dealing with injury issues, but the Sixers will be looking to knock off a Warriors team missing Stephen Curry on the floor.
Despite not having Curry, Golden State does present its fair share of challenges. The Warriors are a top 10 defensive team and they lead the league in 3-pointers made per game with 16.0. Even without the services of Curry, the Warriors can turn to the likes of Jimmy Butler III, Brandin Podziemski, and others to fill in the production which is something the Sixers have to be wary of.
“They play pretty fast,” Adem Bona said at shootaround on Thursday morning. “They get the ball out of the rim and play down pretty fast. They shoot a lot of 3s and they have a lot of movement to their offense. I think the best thing for us is to just limit their movement. Try to put bodies on them and let them play half-court offense and limit their 3s.”
The Sixers have been something of an up-and-down team to begin the season, but they should be able to find ways to slow down the Warriors. While Golden State is a veteran-laden team, it is dealing with inconsistencies and problems of its own. So that is something the Sixers should be able to take advantage of in this instance and help push them over the top.
Tip off from the Xfinity Mobile Arena is set for 7 p.m. EST.
