Nets, 76ers See Lengthy Injury Report Ahead of Cup Matchup

Tonight, the Brooklyn Nets will face off against Philadelphia in NBA Cup play.
Brooklyn has fared better over the last few weeks, winning a few games and playing closely with other top Eastern Conference teams. Still, it hasn’t translated directly to the win column, as the Nets are still trending toward landing one of the top picks at the 2026 NBA Draft.
After a hot start, Philadelphia has begun to look similar lately, going 5-8 in their last 13 games. While the Sixers are undoubtedly more talented on paper, tonight could offer a chance for Brooklyn to steal its first win in Barclays Center.
As always, the injury report is sure to play a factor in tonight’s game. Here are the injury reports for both the Nets and 76ers:
Brooklyn Nets injuries:
Haywood Highsmith — Out: Right knee
Michael Porter Jr. — Out: Lower back
Ben Saraf — Questionable: Left ankle
Cam Thomas — Out: Left hamstring
Nolan Traore — Out: G League
Danny Wolf — Out: G League
Philadelphia 76ers injuries:
Adem Bona — Probable: Right ankle
VJ Edgecombe — Out: Left calf
Joel Embiid — Out: Right knee
Paul George — Questionable: Right ankle
Jared McCain — Available: Right thumb
Kelly Oubre — Out: Left knee
Trendon Watford — Out: Left adductor
Brooklyn will be without its top two scorers on the season in Michael Porter Jr. and Cam Thomas versus Philadelphia, which will obviously affect the team’s chances at leaving with a win.
Porter will miss the game with back tightness. He’s so far led the team in scoring at 24.3 points on 48% shooting overall, doing plenty of everything on the wing. Thomas averaged 21.4 points, but did so in just eight games before suffering a hamstring injury he’s still working back from.
The Nets will also be without Haywood Highsmith, as well as a trio of rookies in Ben Saraf, Danny Wolf and Nolan Traore.
Philadelphia stands in a similar position, seeing a myriad of starters and rotational contributors on their own injury report.
Former MVP Joel Embiid is out dealing with a right knee issues, along with standout rookie VJ Edgecombe and forward Kelly Oubre.
Paul George is listed as questionable to play, and second-year guard Jared McCain is probable as he works his way back from a thumb injury.
The Nets and 76ers tip off at 6:30 p.m. CT from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
