Dak on the attack

The Detroit Lions beat the Dallas Cowboys 44-30 in a high-scoring game on “Thursday Night Football.” Dallas got to within three points in the fourth quarter before Detroit pulled away thanks to two Jahmyr Gibbs touchdowns.

Gibbs, Detroit’s prolific running back, recorded three touchdowns and had 43 yards on 12 carries. David Montgomery also tallied a touchdown and 60 yards rushing on six carries. Jared Goff was efficient, going 25-of-34 passing for 309 yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys offense struggled in the first half, mustering just nine points. Dak Prescott went 31-of-47 passing for 376 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in the loss. CeeDee Lamb, who had six catches for 121 yards, left the game in the third quarter and was ruled out with a concussion.

The Lions improve to 8-5, keeping them in the hunt for a playoff spot in the NFC. The Cowboys fall to 6-6-1, decreasing their playoff odds significantly.
