LFT Fiber customers likely experienced disruptions to internet services throughout the workday and into the night yesterday.
The problem persisted through the early morning, according to a 7 a.m. update from LFT Fiber.
The outage was caused by a main Lumen fiber line cut in Orange, Texas, sometime yesterday. Lumen is a major backbone provider throughout the region, and other internet service providers are likely to be affected.
Repair crews continue to work on the damaged fiber line, and restoration efforts are active.
LFT Fiber has not been provided with a time when restoration will be complete.
“Customers may continue to experience reduced speeds or intermittent connectivity while repairs are underway. As overall network demand decreases, some improvement may occur, but service will still be impacted until the work is complete,” the update read.
