Five-star 2026 wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. makes decision, commits to Ohio State
COLUMBUS, Ohio — After three days of waiting, there’s finally an answer.
Five-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. announced on The Pat McAfee Show that he has committed to the Ohio State football program. He will be sticking with his commitment he made more than two years ago.
Henry, from Mater Dei High in Santa Ana, Calif., has been ranked the No. 10 overall prospect and No. 1 receiver in the 247Sports composite rankings.
The Buckeyes now have signed three wide receivers in the 2026 class — four-stars Jerquaden Guilford and Jaeden Ricketts and three-star Brock Boyd.
Guilford also delayed his decision but submitted his paperwork on Thursday night. He was the 26th commit of the cycle, as the Buckeyes awaited Henry.

While the 6-foot-5 Henry had been committed since to Ohio State since July 2023, the five-star talent postponed his signing when news broke Wednesday that offensive coordinator and receivers coach Brian Hartline would be leaving to become the head coach at South Florida.
Hartline, known as the best receivers coach in the nation, had developed a strong relationship with Henry in the last two-plus years. That clearly weighed on the talented receiver, who took a step back. That also gave Oregon the chance to surge back into the recruitment.
Now, there’s finally a decision about his future.
And, notably, Ohio State and Oregon are scheduled to play in the regular season in both 2026 and 2027.
