Five-star receiver Chris Henry Jr. sticks with commitment to Ohio State over Oregon

Oregon got some early signing period drama, just not the outcome it was hoping for.

Chris Henry Jr., the top-ranked receiver prospect in the class of 2026, stuck with his commitment to Ohio State over a late push from Oregon, USC, Texas and LSU. He announced he’ll be signing with OSU during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show on Friday.

A five-star prospect ranked No. 10 overall, Henry committed to Ohio State in June but did not sign on Wednesday in the aftermath of OSU receivers coach Brian Hartline being hired as the head coach at USF. Henry posted to X that he was weighing his options due to coaching changes, which opened the door for Oregon, Texas and LSU to pursue the son of the late former NFL receiver.

The 6-foot-5, 205-pound Henry has 28 catches for 607 yards and six touchdowns in eight games this season for California powerhouse Mater Dai High School.
