The Lower House on Tuesday approved a
bill allowing for sex education in middle schools in Italy
providing parents consent to it, as already happens with high
schools.
The opposition has criticised the parental consent proviso
saying sex and relationship education should be mandatory and
would help educate young people against rape, gender violence
and femicide.
