Jaylen Brown is the Celtics ‘Name to Know’ Player of the Game in Friday’s win over Lakers

Jaylen Brown’s stellar start to the season continued again on Friday night as the Celtics cruised to their fourth straight win over the Lakers.

Brown led the Celtics in points, rebounds and assists in the victory making him Friday’s “Name to Know” Player of the Game. The Name to Know Player of the Game is sponsored by John’s Sewer and Drain Cleaning, the Name to Know when your drains don’t flow.

Brown did a little bit of everything in the victory for the hosts against a undermanned Lakers squad. He filled up the box score with 30 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, setting the tone for Boston right out of the gate as the Celtics jumped out to a 39-17 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Celtics All-Star kept up the offensive pressure in the third quarter, carrying Boston’s offense by scoring 15 points in the frame to keep any hopes of a Lakers comeback at bay. The visitors got no closer than 15 points in the final three quarters while playing without stars LeBron James (injury management) and Luka Doncic (personal) for the matchup.

Brown has now scored 26 or more points in eight of his last nine games, with Boston going 7-2 during that stretch to catapult into the top half of the Eastern Conference playoff picture. Brown’s all around contributions have also increased as well amid Boston’s winning streak as he’s posted eight rebounds or more in three of his last five games while also averaging seven assists per game since Nov. 23.

Brown will look to keep the momentum going for himself and the Celtics on Sunday afternoon as Boston travels to Toronto for a matinee matchup with the Raptors.
