‘Run for cover, Paddy!’ Toy Show star Layla charms viewers with her quick wit

We might have a future Late Late Toy Show host on our hands, as quick-witted 2025 star Layla Doyle stood out from the crowd.

The 11-year-old had Toy Show viewers giggling to themselves and urging host Patrick Kielty to ‘run for cover’ as she pulled out funny dig after funny dig on the spot.

Layla was involved in a war of Premier League teams skit with Patrick, representing Liverpool, while the latter championed Manchester United.

The pair went head-to-head in a quick game of footie, which saw Layla emerge victorious, obviously! Later, they battled it out in a Premier League quiz-off, and once again, Layla found herself outsmarting Paddy.

‘I actually need Layla to start doing stand-up immediately with that quick wit,’ one X user said, urging the 11-year-old to chance her arm in a career in comedy.

‘Layla’s not holding back. Jaysus. Run for cover, Paddy!!,’ another joked, as someone else said: ‘The entire Liverpool squad needs to leap out of a Christmas tree for Layla. I won’t accept anything less.’

Northern Irish footballer, Conor Bradley, who plays for Liverpool, made Layla’s year, perhaps her life.

In a video message, he told her: ‘I’d like to invite you and your family on a VIP trip to see us play at Anfield and I’d love for you to walk out with me and the team as our mascot.’ Wow!
