Colandrea becomes UNLV’s first QB conference player of year since 1984

UNLV quarterback Anthony Colandrea has been named Mountain West offensive player of the year for the 2025 season.

The news means that Colandrea is the first Rebel quarterback to earn such honors since Randall Cunningham in 1983 and ’84, when UNLV was a member of the Big West.

A transfer from Virginia, Colandrea started all 12 games for UNLV in the regular season and went 10-2.

He threw for 3,050 yards and 22 touchdowns with a career-high 68.2 completion rate. On the ground, he also ran for 555 yards and eight touchdowns.

Colandrea is one of just four FBS players to pass for at least 3,000 yards and run for at least 500.

UNLV’s season continues on Friday with the Mountain West championship game against Boise State. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. PT.
