Police release findings after ‘American Pie’ star said she was drugged at hotel

Police have provided an updated on an incident involving actress Tara Reid.

Reid, who is best known for appearing in the American Pie film series, said last month that she was hospitalized and unconscious for eight hours after someone spiked her drink at a hotel bar.

The alleged incident occurred at the DoubleTree Hotel on River Road on Nov. 23, but according to NBC5 in Chicago, the Rosemont Police Department said surveillance video did not show any individual tampering with the drink.

Video also showed a bartender covering her drink with a napkin when she stepped away from the bar, which Reid also reported.

Photos of the scene obtained by TMZ later showed Reid slouched in a wheelchair in the hotel lobby and on a stretcher on her way to the hospital.

Police say that they believe “no criminal act” was committed at the hotel, according to the TV station.

“While we do not have any evidence that a drink was tampered with, it is a good reminder to never leave a drink unattended. If you ever believe you have been drugged or feel unsafe, please reach out to local authorities,” a police spokesperson told NBC5.

Reid had been in the Chicago suburb for an appearance at the Chicago Sports Spectacular.

Considered a 1990s sex symbol due to her role as Vicky Lathum in American Pie, her other notable roles include the films “Urban Legend” (1998), “The Big Lebowski” (1998) “Body Shots” (1999), “Josie and the Pussycats” (2001), “Van Wilder” (2002), “My Boss’s Daughter” (2003) and “Alone in the Dark” (2005).
