Son fatally stabbed parents at A&A Deli in Bethpage, N.Y., police say

A 30-year-old man is accused of murdering his parents in a gruesome crime at their Italian deli in Bethpage, New York.

Nassau County Police said they charged Vito D’Ambrosio, of Seaford, on Friday following the double fatal stabbing at A&A Italian Deli and Pizza

Long Island man charged in parents’ murders

According to police, D’Ambrosio killed his mother, 62-year-old Angela Pulisciano, and father, 70-year-old Antonio D’Ambrosio, during an altercation at the Long Island family’s deli on Hicksville Road near Boundary Avenue.

He drove to the family-run business at around 9 a.m. Thursday and headed into a back room, where he ultimately stabbed his mother in the throat before stabbing his father, investigators said.

D’Ambrosio was arrested when officers found him in the parking lot with blood on his hands and clothes.

Vito Dambrosio is arrested outside A&A Italian Deli and Pizza in Bethpage, New York, where he allegedly stabbed his parents to death on Dec. 4, 2025.

He was also involved in a separate incident on his way to the deli, police said.

“He slapped the buttocks of one of the female clerks in [a local] coffee shop. That was reported to 911. Shortly thereafter, driving right up to where the murders took place,” Nassau County Police Det. Lt. George Darienzo said.

D’Ambrosio pleaded not guilty to 1st degree murder of multiple victims Friday at Nassau University Medial Center, where he was recovering from injuries.

A once tight-knit family

D’Ambrosio had been estranged from his family since November, when court records show a stay away order was granted following a domestic incident with a sibling.

Officials said D’Ambrosio was wearing an ankle monitor when police took him into custody.

A memorial started growing outside the A&A Deli after the deaths of his mother and father.

Angela Pulisciano and Antonio D’Ambrosio were murdered by their son during an altercation at their deli in Bethpage, New York, on Dec. 4, 2025, according to police.

“They were good people. This was tragic, really. They had a beautiful family,” Lorraine Decanio, a patron, said.

“They were just wonderful people, we’ve known them for decades and shopped here all the time,” Maryann Karageorges said.

Another deli customer said D’Ambrosio confessed to him before police arrived.

“I just seen the son walking out and he said, ‘I stabbed my parents.’ And that was it,” Joe Boros said.

D’Ambrosio was remanded until his next court date on Dec. 9.
