Jude Bellingham’s dad Mark, 49, dubbed ‘lethal’ as he joins lower-league club and scores twice on debut

JUDE BELLINGHAM’S dad has signed for a lower-league German club and the 49-year-old has already been dubbed “lethal” after scoring twice on his debut.

Mark Bellingham, father of England superstar Jude and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jobe, has quietly joined FC Herdecke-Ende, a small club near Dortmund, after moving to Germany to be closer to his youngest son.

The former non-league goal machine, who famously smashed in more than 700 goals during his playing days in England, turned up at the club’s ground in November hoping to join their veterans’ side.

Introducing himself simply as “Mark, looking for somewhere to play football,” he had no idea the surprise he was about to cause.

Two training sessions later, Herdecke-Ende knew they had stumbled across something special.

Club boss Marcel Schunke said he only realised who the new arrival actually was after reading his name on the membership form, at which point the dressing room suddenly switched to English.

Bellingham Sr originally planned to train only with the seniors, but he impressed so much that he was thrown straight into a competitive cup tie against Berchum-Garenfeld at the end of October.

He marked his debut with a brilliant brace, immediately earning cult-hero status.

He’s since turned out for the club’s second team too and of course, scored again.

Schunke said: “Mark’s lethal in front of goal.

Mark and Denise Bellingham have gone their separate ways after more than 20 years of marriage, according to reports.

It is not clear when they formally separated but they have largely lived apart for the last five years while managing their sons’ careers, with Jude now playing in Spain for Real Madrid and Jobe in Germany with Dortmund.

Jobe is still hunting his first Bundesliga goal, although he did find the net against Mamelodi Sundowns at the FIFA Club World Cup in the summer.

The 20-year-old has featured in all 20 of Dortmund’s matches this season and will look to follow in his dad’s footsteps when in-form Hoffenheim visit Signal Iduna Park on Matchday 13.

Older brother Jude enjoyed huge success at Dortmund before joining Real Madrid in 2023, delivering 49 goal involvements in 132 games and lifting the DFB Cup in 2021.
