Coles pulls popular Aussie snack off its shelves after shocking urgent recall

A widely loved snack sold at Coles has been pulled from shelves across Australia after plastic was discovered in selected flavours.

The popular Tom & Luke health snack has been urgently recalled from Coles stores nationwide after plastic was found inside two flavours.

Smartfoods Limited has removed both raspberry and hazelnut varieties from Tom and Luke’s Low Carb Snackaballs range following the alarming discovery.

Several batches have been impacted, prompting a sweeping recall across the country.

Affected hazelnut packs in the 112g size display the dates September 3, 2026 and September 11, 2026, while the raspberry packs carry September 11, 2026, September 15, 2026 and October 16, 2026.

The product has been available to shoppers in-store and online.

On Friday, Food Standards Australia and New Zealand warned the plastic poses a risk of illness or injury if eaten.

Officials urged customers not to consume any of the affected snack packs.

Shoppers can return the product to any Coles supermarket for a full refund.

Authorities have urged anyone experiencing health concerns to seek medical attention.
