INDIANAPOLIS — How will Louisville basketball respond to its first setback of the season?
We’ll find out today, when Pat Kelsey’s No. 6 Cardinals (7-1) face No. 19 Indiana (7-1) at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
UofL is coming off an 89-80 loss to No. 23 Arkansas on Wednesday at Bud Walton Arena in the ACC/SEC Challenge; it trailed for all but 27 seconds and by as many as 20 points. Kelsey described his team as “discombobulated” during the first half, then “rushed” when it pulled within two possessions five times during the final 10:51 of regulation.
The Hoosiers also suffered their first defeat of the season Wednesday: 73-64 at Minnesota to open Big Ten play under first-year coach Darian DeVries, who was in charge of West Virginia when the Cards beat the Mountaineers last November in the Battle 4 Atlantis semifinals. IU fell to 26th on KenPom.com’s adjusted efficiency rankings after the loss.

Score predictions: KenPom gives the Cards a 64% chance of winning and projects an 82-78 final score in their favor. BartTorvik.com is also forecasting a UofL victory (59%), with a projected final score of 80-78.
