Live updates: Alabama battles Georgia in SEC Championship

Death, taxes, and Alabama vs Georgia in the SEC Championship Game.

The Crimson Tide and Bulldogs will face off once again in Atlanta with the conference title on the line. The winner will lock up the conference’s automatic bid in the College Football Playoff.

The loser will still likely make the 12-team field. Georgia is more assured of that than Alabama, but even the Crimson Tide had a 97% chance to make the playoff entering Saturday, per ESPN’s playoff predictor.

A first-round bye could also be on the line. If Georgia wins, it will all but lock up a top-four spot. If Alabama wins, it could as well but that’s not guaranteed.

The Crimson Tide and Bulldogs played earlier this season, a game Alabama won in the Athens, Georgia. Georgia will look to return the favor Saturday.

Kickoff time: 3 p.m. CT

Alabama starting running back Jam Miller is out for the game. He was seen in a medical boot and normal clothes during warmups. Running back Kevin Riley also remains out.

So, Daniel Hill figures to lead Alabama’s rushing attack and see the most snaps. How the Crimson Tide uses AK Dear, Dre Washington and Richard Young behind Hill will be worth monitoring.

Meanwhile, tight end Josh Cuevas also was in regular clothes and a medical boot during warmups. He missed the two games since the loss to Oklahoma.
