Malachi Tolliver as expected is starting at center for Georgia in place of Drew Bobo, who is not expected to return this season with a foot injury. It’s a big loss for Georgia, and Toliver is a redshirt freshman making only his second career start. The first was two weeks ago against Charlotte, when Bobo was held out with a separate injury. Toliver also played the second half of last week’s Georgia Tech game, which was here at Mercedes-Benz.

Alabama, meanwhile, is going to be without tailback Jam Miller, who has been questionable this week but has not been getting pregame reps. Both teams have other key injuries — Georgia safety Kyron Jones, Alabama defensive lineman LT Overton, among others — so on paper they would seem to cancel out. But we’ll see how the game plays out and see whether any player absence looms largest.
