Jing Lusi, Michelle Keegan, Martin Compston, Natalie Dormer, Shaun Evans, Romala Garai, Eve Myles, Gemma Arterton, Rafe Spall, Dominic Cooper, Luke Evans, David Morrissey, Douglas Booth, Sophie Rundle, Philip Glenister, Mia McKenna-Bruce, Rishi Nair, Robson Green, Aimée-Ffion Edwards, Daniel Mays, Ben Miller, John Simm, Richie Campbell and Omid Djalili are just some of the names appearing in ITV dramas over the next twelve months.
Top Tier Drama
The Blame is centred around DI Emma Crane (MIchelle Keegan) and DI Tom Radley (Douglas Booth) investigating a tragic murder in the fictional town of Wakestead. They quickly identify their main suspect, but as the case progresses, an unexpected lead comes to light. As Emma and Tom dig deeper, they uncover a web of lies, institutional cover-ups and moral compromise, which forces Emma to question the people closest to her. Part propulsive mystery, part social commentary, part love story, The Blame will tackle big questions around policing and will take an unflinching look at who we can really trust.
Based on the acclaimed novel by Elizabeth Day, The Party is a five-part drama starring Luke Evans (Nine Perfect Strangers, Murder Mystery, Fast and Furious franchise and ITV’s The Pembrokeshire Murders) as Martin Gilmour, a journalist shaped by his lifelong friendship with the wealthy and charismatic politician Ben Fitzmaurice, played by Tom Cullen (The Gold, Trespasses, House of the Dragon).
Acclaimed, award-winning actress Gemma Arterton (Funny Woman, The Critic) leads a stellar cast in Secret Service, a gripping espionage thriller adapted from ITV News anchor Tom Bradby’s tense and timely novel, and produced by Potboiler Productions.
Set against today’s fraught political landscape, Secret Service explores long-standing tensions between Russia and the UK, raising pressing questions about foreign influence in British politics.
New scandalous drama Adultery is led by Dominic Cooper and Romola Garai. This provocative love story raises questions about class, grief, and the effects of social media, as it takes the viewer on a rollercoaster story of passion, parenthood and peril, as Tom Kirkman and Beth Brookes embark upon a passionate and intense love affair that threatens to uproot their whole lives. Adultery is naturally authentic and bristling with passion, as it focuses upon two ordinary families and messy complications.
ITV’s propulsive thriller Red Eye takes flight again with Jing Lusi reprising her role as DS Hana Li for a new investigation alongside guest star, Martin Compston. Joining Jing and Martin in the highly pressurised, rollercoaster world of Red Eye are Lesley Sharp and Jemma Moore who also return as Head of MI5 Madeline Delaney and journalist Jess Li.
The Lady is a gripping four‑part drama that charts the extraordinary rise and fall of Jane Andrews from Buckingham Palace to convicted murderer. Mia McKenna‑Bruce brings compelling depth to Jane Andrews, a young working-class girl, who to the astonishment of her friends and family, became the then Duchess of York’s dresser at Buckingham Palace. Moving amongst the highest social circles in Britain, Jane managed to secure a place in the upper-classes, only to lose her job after nine years of service. Still reeling from her fall from grace, Jane went on to meet charismatic businessman Thomas Cressman and fell deeply in love. But soon cracks began to develop in the romance Jane had pinned all her hopes on, with disastrous consequences.
Shaun Evans (Until I Kill You, Endeavour, Vigil) and Romola Garai (The Years, The Hour) star in Betrayal, a gripping four-part thriller about trust, truth, and the personal cost of secrecy in the modern intelligence world.
Gone is set against the backdrop of a prestigious private school, a foreboding forest and the quiet sprawl of Bristol. Gone is a chilling mystery focusing on local Headmaster Michael Polly, played by David Morrissey (The Long Shadow, Sherwood, Britannia), who becomes the prime suspect in his wife Sarah’s disappearance. Eve Myles (The Crow Girl, Hijack, Torchwood) plays super bright, gutsy Detective Annie Cassidy who begins to chip away at his veneer in search of the truth.
And Believe Me tells the story of three victims of one of the most prolific sex attackers in British history, John Worboys, dubbed by the media as the ‘black cab rapist’ after preying on women under the cover of being a ‘respectable’ licensed taxi-cab driver. Aimée-Ffion Edwards (Slow Horses, Peaky Blinders, Dreamland, Mr Burton), Miriam Petche (Industry) and Aasiya Shah (Raised by Wolves, Bloods, The Beast Must Die) play the women Worboys sexually assaulted. Daniel Mays takes the role of John Worboys (Des, A Thousand Blows, The Long Shadow, Moonflower Murders).
Grace, Grantchester, After The Flood and Professor T also make welcome returns. And after receiving widespread critical acclaim, Piglets – starring Mark Heap and Sarah Parish – is back on ITV for an exciting second series.
