Ashes second Test day four LIVE: Ben Stokes remains the ‘only hope’ for England as 2-0 series deficit looms

Ben Stokes will need to produce something special to help England escape in the second Test – but the skipper “loves this moment” as shown throughout his career.
The visitors trail by 43 runs and have already lost six wickets in their second innings.
Stokes will resume batting with keeper Jamie Smith this afternoon. While it might be a long shot, England’s only hope of a win or draw in Brisbane relies on their captain.
“Everything we have seen in Ben Stokes’ career, he loves this moment,” former Aussie vice-captain Brad Haddin said on Willow Talk.
“It doesn’t get any bigger than this – if you go down 2-0 in an Ashes campaign, the series is gone. The only hope for England is that Ben Stokes goes nuts.
“Can I see it happening on this surface? I don’t think so, but that’s England’s only hope.”
Stokes was run out for 19 in the first innings before taking 3-113 with the ball.
