When does CFP bracket come out? What Georgia fans need to know

ATLANTA — For the fifth straight year, Georgia football spent the day before the final College Football Playoff rankings reveal providing another data point to the selection committee.
The Bulldogs’ 28-7 win over Alabama in the SEC Championship game in Mercedes-Benz Stadium officially put the Bulldogs in the 12-team field.
Not that there was any doubt that the Bulldogs would be in it considering they were No. 3 entering the final rankings.
Just like last year, Georgia is expected to play in the Sugar Bowl. That quarterfinal game is set for Jan. 1 in New Orleans.
Georgia made the playoff in 2021 after losing to Alabama in the SEC title game, in 2022 after beating LSU and last year after defeating Texas. It did not make the playoff in 2023 after losing to Alabama in the final year of a four-team playoff.

College Football Playoff bracket predictions for Georgia football
Georgia could move up a spot to No. 2 after No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 Indiana play in the Big Ten championship game.
The Bulldogs would face the winner of the first-round game between the No.7-No. 10 matchup that would be played on the campus of the higher-seeded team. That could be Texas A&M vs. Alabama, Miami or Notre Dame.
Georgia is expected to play in the Sugar Bowl in what would be a CFP quarterfinal. The Bulldogs lost in the Sugar Bowl 23-10 to Notre Dame last year’s playoff as a higher-seeded team.
