From Jay Kelly to The West Wing : What to Watch on Netflix

Many of this week’s new movies and shows offer peeks into various glamorous and enigmatic industries. Take Jay Kelly, in which George Clooney plays a world-famous actor opposite Adam Sandler as his longtime manager. Co-written and directed by Noah Baumbach (Marriage Story, White Noise), the movie brings audiences along on a journey of unexpected introspection, all amid the goings-on of Hollywood.
A pair of documentary projects shed light on the creative processes behind hit songs and intrepid journalism. In the series Simon Cowell: The Next Act, the music mogul and record executive attempts to build the next global boy-band sensation, while the film The New Yorker at 100 looks back at a century of the magazine’s articles and cartoons, complete with unprecedented access to its newsroom.
Owning Manhattan, which follows New York City luxury real estate broker Ryan Serhant and his ambitious agents, is back with a second season of deals and drama. And it’s nonstop politics over at The West Wing, the acclaimed seven-season drama created by Aaron Sorkin (The Trial of the Chicago 7) that depicts high-stakes happenings at the White House.
