Gardaí were at the scene of a fatal house fire in Co Offaly last night.
Emergency services and An Garda Síochána arrived at a domestic residence in Edenderry at approximately 7.45pm last night.
Gardaí believe there are fatalities at the scene.
The fire has been extinguished by the local fire service, a spokesperson for the gardaí said.
“An Garda Síochána is not in a position to provide any further details at this early stage,” a spokesperson added.
