Rosanna Davison’s father-in-law leaves over €50 million in his will

For a certain generation, the DR Quirkey’s Good Time Emporium on O’ Connell Street in Dublin will bring back many fond memories, and it was all thanks to its founder, Richard Quirke.
The high-profile businessman was well-respected and was with his wife Ann for 55 years, with whom he had three children, Debbie, Andrew, and Wesley, who is the husband of former Miss World Rosanna Davison.
In October of 2024, the Tipperary man died at the age of 77, a man who was originally a Garda and went on to make his fortune in slot machine and casino businesses.

According to The Irish Independent, documents filed in the probate office showed that Richard had an estate worth €54 472,655.05.
The Tipperary man was also the owner of the Carlton Casino Club located on the same street as Dr Quirkey’s.
This week, it was found that in his last will dated February 12 in 2021, his fortune would be left to his wife Ann.

The document stated that ‘the assets comprised in all of my approved retirement fund’ will go to Ann, as well as ‘the rest, residue and remainder of my estate after the payment of my debts.’
If anything were to happen to his wife within 30 days of his passing, the entire estate would then be divided between his children and grandchildren.

He set up Dr. Quirkey’s Goodtime Emporium on O’Connell Street in Dublin in 1976 and his gambling business has gone from strength to strength with the after-tax profits for 2023 alone coming to €8,654,935, according to Extra.
He has since passed on the family business to his sons, Wes and Andy, and they’re sitting on a fortune as shareholders’ funds reached a whopping €25 million in 2023.
