LUSBY, Md. — The busy holiday season is the perfect time for parents to take a much-needed break. Calvert County Parks and Recreation is providing one such opportunity and inviting kids ages 6–11 to Kids Night Out on Friday, Dec. 19, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The Kids Night Out event will take place at the Southern Community Center, located at 20 Appeal Lane in Lusby. During the event, kids can enjoy a night of fun while parents enjoy some downtime. Pizza, snacks and a drink will be provided for the kids. Kids will also have the chance to take part in group games, spend time in the game room, enjoy pop-a-shot basketball, billiards, air hockey, Nintendo Switch play, crafts and more.
Pre-registration is required, and the cost is $5 per participant. Any interested families should use Calvert’s online registration portal to register.
Kids Night Out and Parents Night Out events occur throughout the year in Calvert County, usually hosted by Parks and Recreation or other community organizations. The events either give kids the opportunity to get together and do activities, like in the Dec. 19 event, or organize outings for parents to get to know each other and get the chance to have fun while the kids are supervised elsewhere.
