LG Electronics Inc. (LG Electronics) is launching its global, ad-supported free streaming service, LG Channels, in the Middle East for the first time. Starting this month, LG Channels will gradually roll out in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), accelerating the expansion of its global ecosystem.
In the UAE, LG Channels will offer region-focused channels such as Lovin Dubai, which provides local news and lifestyle content, and the Arabic streaming service WATCH IT. The platform will also support a wide range of popular content, including global news from Bloomberg Television and Euronews, as well as sports, entertainment, movies, kids’ programming, and documentaries.
Reflecting the high interest in K-content in the Middle East, LG Channels will also broadcast specialized Korean programming such as K-Baseball TV, Arirang TV, K-Music, and K-ASMR, featuring sports, music, and variety shows from Korea. Additionally, a newly designed interface for Arabic-speaking viewers, who read from right to left, will be introduced.
LG Electronics has expanded its service to Taiwan, following Asia, North America, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East, bringing the total number of countries served to 36. In Taiwan, LG Channels has partnered with the local OTT platform ofiii to offer a variety of content, including major terrestrial channels such as China Television Company (CTV) and Chinese Television System Inc. (CTS), real-time economic news from SET iNews Channel, popular movies from LTV, the long-running Taiwanese variety show Genius Go Go Go, and children’s animation through LTV Cartoons.
