Finishing 7th in the Abu Dhabi qualifiers, Gabriel Bortoleto ends his season “really well”.

Seventh in qualifying in Abu Dhabi, Gabriel Bortoleto concludes his 24th and final Saturday as a rookie in fine style. Formula 1Unlike his teammate, Nico HulkenbergEliminated in Q1, the Brazilian found the keys to perform on the Yas Marina circuit, and gave Sauber something to hope for to finish on a good note this Sunday, before handing the reins to Audi.

Speaking to Formula 1, the person in question expressed his delight at this conclusion: “It’s really great to finish the season with a session like this. The whole session was very close; we made it through to Q2 by a few thousandths of a second, where I was able to put in a great lap to qualify for Q3. In the final session, I also had a good lap, and it’s good to equal my best qualifying result of the year. I hope that tomorrow we can have a good car and score some points.”

The appointment is therefore set for Gabriel Bortoleto, who reminds us of the challenge of achieving a good lap on a circuit like Abu Dhabi, where Qualifying takes place at sunset.

He pursues : “The car is good, we made changes to adapt to the conditions because it’s never easy going from sunshine to night. The temperatures change a lot and you have to make changes to bring the balance from FP3, if it’s good, into qualifying. I’m quite happy.”
