Martin O’Neill steadied Celtic ship but Wilfried Nancy must sail fast after recent club upheaval

Today marks the beginning of a new era at Paradise. Wilfried Nancy takes charge of Celtic for the first time. A winning start against leaders Hearts this afternoon would see the Hoops return to the top of the Scottish Premiership after a turbulent start to the campaign on and off the pitch.
Nancy, the Frenchman entrusted with leading Celtic to the next level, takes over a ship which has been steadied by former Ireland boss Martin O’Neill over the last five weeks. Having not managed for six years, the 73-year-old answered the call following Brendan Rodgers’ resignation in late October and guided the club to seven wins in eight games as interim boss.
