Roma remain hopeful as Zirkzee pushes to leave United

In January, Roma will be ready to shift gears to give Gasperini the reinforcements he requested (and never received) last summer: a center forward and a winger.

Massara is eyeing the opportunity, and Brighton could offer a helping hand.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the English club has been without young center forward Tzimas for several months and is now considering bringing Ferguson back to England.

The Seagulls’ manager hasn’t ruled out this possibility, leaving all options open: Roma wants to evaluate Ferguson’s performance and intentions in the upcoming matches, then make a decision in January, also in consultation with Brighton.

The Irishman’s possible early departure would further open up the possibility of a new addition to the attacking lineup: the race for Gasperini’s new number nine is now narrowed down to three names.

The Grugliasco-born coach wants Joshua Zirkzee, who is also pushing for a January transfer.

The Dutchman has realized that there won’t be as much space at United once Sesko returns, and to earn a spot at the World Cup, he needs a club that will give him regular playing time.

Roma is ready to approach him on loan with an obligation to buy if they qualify for the Champions League.
