Where Alabama is ranked compared to Notre Dame, Miami in latest AP top 25 rankings
Alabama football fell in the AP top 25 rankings released Sunday before the College Football Playoff rankings.
The Crimson Tide dropped to No. 11 in the AP poll. Alabama had been ranked No. 10 before it lost to Georgia in the SEC Championship.
Miami moved up two spots to No. 10 with BYU also falling one spot to No. 12.
Based on the AP poll, Alabama would be out of the playoff. Notre Dame is No. 9 and Miami is the last at-large team in.
But these rankings don’t ultimately matter for the Crimson Tide’s hopes of reaching the 12-team field.
Georgia, after beating Alabama, moved up to No. 2. The Bulldogs had been ranked No. 3.
Alabama will learn its CFP fate at 11 a.m. CT on Sunday. The CFP reveal will be on ESPN.
Based on the latest AP poll, Alabama’s resume includes wins over No. 2 Georgia, No. 13 Vanderbilt and No. 25 Missouri. It has losses to No. 2 Georgia, No. 8 Oklahoma and Florida State.
