Kris Boyd issues Celtic reality check for Wilfried Nancy after ‘playing connect four’ on sidelines

The Frenchman’s reign at Parkhead has got off to a losing start
Celtic boss Wilfried Nancy consults his tactics board
Wilfried Nancy has been mocked by Kris Boyd for whipping out the tactics board during Celtic’s 2-1 defeat to Hearts on his Parkhead debut.
The Frenchman was appointed as Brendan Rodgers’ permanent successor earlier this week but has seen his reign get off to a losing start, with the Jambos now moving three points clear at the Premiership summit. Nancy’s side lined up with a new-look 3-4-3 formation but were found wanting at both ends of the park in a bitterly frustrating 90 minutes.
With his team chasing the game, Nancy and number two Kwame Ampadu were seen using a tactics board as they plotted a route back into the match. The former Columbus Crew head coach now has to pick his players up for the visit of Roma in the Europa League on Thursday, which is then quickly followed by a Premier Sports Cup final showdown with St Mirren.
And Rangers hero Boyd has poked fun at the new Hoops boss after the loss in Glasgow’s East End. Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “The goal in the first half changes everything as it normally does.
Hearts didn’t want to commit too many bodies forward until they got that goal but once they got it I thought they were excellent in the second half.
“They controlled it and that man Cammy Devlin was unbelievable, if there is a more improved player in Scotland I am yet to see him.
“It’s a big week for him now (Wilfred Nancy). You look at your first home game that you had to win, Roma on Thursday and then a cup final.

“It’s not been the best of starts for him.
“He’s going to have to get results, rather than playing connect four on the side of the pitch.”
