Report: Iowa heading to Tampa for ReliaQuest Bowl

IOWA CITY, Iowa (IOWA’S NEWS NOW) — It’s a new name but a familiar place for the Iowa Hawkeyes this bowl season.
On3’s Brett McMurphy reports that Iowa will return to Tampa Bay, Florida for the first time since the end of the 2018 season to play in December 31’s ReliaQuest Bowl. Official confirmation from the team and the bowl is still to come, as well as an announcement on the SEC team Iowa will play.
The Hawkeyes have played six bowl games at Raymond James Stadium under Kirk Ferentz – but this will be the first trip to Tampa since ReliaQuest started their sponsorship of the game. For years, Outback Steakhouse was the namesake of the bowl. Iowa ended their 2003, 2005, 2008, 2013, 2016, and 2018 seasons in the Outback Bowl, which was played on New Year’s Day.
The 2025 Hawkeye football team finished the regular season 8-4 (6-3 Big Ten) and is ranked 23rd in the College Football Playoff poll.

Kirk Ferentz will speak to the media Sunday afternoon once bowl details are made official. I on the Hawks will have a reaction podcast released later that evening.
