Several of the NFL’s first-round rookies continue to make a big impact as they barrel toward the end of the season. Some of those will be impacting playoff races across the league. As always, we’ll continue to track their progress, PFF grades and principal opponents each week.

Pick No. 1: Tennessee Titans: QB Cam Ward

  • Overall Rookie Grade: 56.7 (Rank: 3/4)
  • Principal Opponent: N/A
  • Week 13 Snaps: 59
  • Week 13 Grade: 44.7

Ward struggled to get anything going against the Jaguars’ excellent coverage unit in Week 13. He completed his week with a 45.3 PFF passing grade, his third-worst mark of the season. That’s in large part because he committed a season-high three turnover-worthy plays. Ward needs to improve his ball security, particularly with regard to fumbles, as he has a league-leading nine this season.

Pick No. 2: Jacksonville Jaguars: WR/CB Travis Hunter

  • Overall Rookie Grade (Offense): 62.2 (Rank: 8/14)
  • Principal Opponent (Offense): N/A
  • Week 13 Offense Snaps: 0
  • Week 13 Offense Grade: N/A
  • Overall Rookie Grade (Defense): 73.2 (Rank: 2/18)
  • Principal Opponent (Defense): N/A
  • Week 13 Defense Snaps: 0
  • Week 13 Defense Grade: N/A

Hunter is out for the rest of the season due to a knee injury.
